  • "I made my first album after 20 years of movie music"

    2011/03/15, Source,
Director Lee Dong-joon is having a concert this coming 18th. For 17 years Lee Dong-joon has been making music for Korean blockbuster movies like "Shiri", "The Gingko Bed", "Green Fish", "Taegukgi" and more. His music is created by an orchestra of 80 to 100 people and at times it is grand and sometimes is delicate and soft, moving the hearts of those who hear it. Dramas are different. Music is made until the last episode with only 1 or 2 episodes of the highlight scenes and scripts. The same goes for musicals. [JoongAng Ilbo] Filmmaker Kang Je-gyu has only directed three films in the past 15 years - "The Gingko Bed" (1996), "Shiri" (1998) and "Taegukgir" (2004) - but each one has changed the landscape of Korean film. And it's hard to discuss the renaissance of Korean film without mentioning Kang's second spy film "Shiri". More than a decade has passed since the release of "Shiri", but the film is still the eighth-highest grossing Korean film ever. His third film "Taegukgi" was the first Korean war blockbuster and the third-highest grossing Korean film, according to the Korean Film Council,...More
