always think spring as the season of slow pace, as summer people will often go active & outdoors as they could. Summer Whispers in a movie I bought because I curious about the nice smile actress in Lee Young-eun.
Eventhough the movie poster consists of Lee Young-eun & Ha Seok-jin's character, but the real connection in this movie belongs to Choi Jong-won's, Professor Noh. With this movie based on love of literature (poetry exactly), & orchids, the pace of this movie is slow, comfortable, & relaxing. I had time to be confuse, but that's because I didn't knew who were characters names were (& add the lack of proper subtitle).
They are gonna be flashbacks scenes, that would give answers between the connection of the all the main characters in the film, & provides it well during 3/4 of the length. However, I thought the ending could do more better.
Young-eun is playing Yeong-jo, a talented poetry writer, & Seok-jin is Yoon-soo, a flower gardenist. I enjoyed how the both of them played their characters well, but I want more connection between them. Add the factor that some of connection between them is on letter (poetry, memo, or simple notes), just like Il Mare, the romanticism is there.
An important milestone will happen in the end of the movie, but I felt it didn't show more. If you have watch "War of the Worlds" (Tom Cruise, Dakota Fanning), is just one of those movies, but Summer Whispers doesn't drop expectations towards the end as much as the Hollywood blockbusters. I'll leave it up to you if wanna watch it or not.
