Actor Lee Jong-won and actress Sin-ae will appear on Chinese television through the China-Korea joint production "Miro" ("Maze").
"Miro (Maze)" is a traditional melodrama produced by Korea's Samhwa Networks whose library includes "My Man's Woman" and "Golden Era of Daughter in Law" along with China's largest media company SMG (Shanghai Media Group). The series is a remake of the 1992 "Husband's Woman" starring Ko Doo-sim and Noh Joo-hyeon. Lee Jong-won and Chinese actress Tao Ho Min play a married couple while Sin-ae plays the role of the woman who falls in love with Lee Jong-won. The series is produced and directed by Jang Yong-woo of "Hotelier" and "Wangcho". Samhwa Networks commented on the 25th, "'Miro (Maze)' which was completed last year will be aired at 7pm through the SMG drama channel in Shanghai. Result from the website DC Inside survey ranks Ha Jeong-Woo as second place. A drama, 'Dae Jang Geum' will be broadcasted in main land China. With great popularity of the drama in Hong Kong and Taiwan, Hunan TV & Broadcast, which has a service area in the whole country in China, will air it via satellite TV starting from September 1.
It is the first time for Korean dramas to be broadcasted via not terrestrial but satellite channel intended for the whole country. This is an evidence that Korean dramas have been further leveled up in China, following after broadcasting 'Terms of Endearment' of KBS (Korea Broadcasting System) on Channel-1 (a complex channel), not Channel-8 (exclusive for overseas programs) of CCTV. TV actor Song Il-gook and singer Jang Nara were commissioned to work as PR ambassadors for China at the Chinese Culture Center in Jongno-gu, Seoul on August 8. The ceremony was be attended by Chinese Culture Minister, Sun Jiazheng, Chinese Ambassador to Seoul, Li Bin and other dignitaries, including the assistant culture minister of China. Song Il-gook will work as PR ambassador of China together with Jang Nara, who has already been working as a PR ambassador of China since last year.
