LEE Jae-gyoo's directorial debut "The Influence" was released this week through the internet. The three part film stars LEE Byeong-heon fresh from his international exposure in Tran Ahn Hung's I Come with the Rain and blockbuster GI Joe. He appears alongside actress HAN Chae-young who recently starred in "Good Morning President" (2009). The film also stars actors JEON No-min, KIM Tae-woo ("The Naked Kitchen" 2008) and JO Jae-hyeon.
Although this is LEE Jae-gyoo's first directorial venture, he is well known in Korea after bringing hit dramas "Damo" and "Beethoven Virus" to the small screen. The movie, which also delves into the realms of fantasy, takes place over the period 1907 – 2010. The two actors play characters who share a love that spans the duration. Ultimately though, LEE's character will need to make a choice whether or not to keep a long held promise.

Korean film "Season of Good Rain", starring Korean actor Jeong Woo-seong and Chinese actress Gao Yuanyuan, has been selected as the closing film for a Korean film festival to be held in Los Angeles next month.
"Season of Good Rain", by famed directed Heo Jin-ho, will close the four-day long Korean Film Festival in Los Angeles (KOFFLA) on March 7. The fest is set to open with Korean film "Le Grand Chef - Kimchi War" starring Kim Jeong-eun and Jin Goo.##

Asian films will highlight the 60th anniversary of the Berlin International Film Festival, both bookending the main program and dominating the Forum section of the top-tier fest. While films from China and Japan open and close the fest (Feb 11 – 20), Korean films show a strong presence throughout with a total of 7 features and 2 shorts selected.
In the festival's Forum sidebar are 3 Korean features. Among them SO Sang-min's "I'm in Trouble!" (winner of Pusan's 2009 New Currents award) and RYoo Hyeong-gi's "Our Fantastic 21st Century" were both produced by KOFIC's Korean Academy of Film Arts (KAFA). Korean-Japanese director YANG Yong-hi's second feature documentary "Sona, the Other Myself" also screens in Forum.

Eight Korean films -- including "Actresses", "The Naked Kitchen" and "A Brand New Life" -- are up for presentation at the 60th Berlin International Film Festival, which kicks off in Germany on Thursday.
This year, the film festival -- which is considered one of the most prestigious film events in Europe alongside Cannes, Venice and Rotterdam -- will show more than 400 films from around the world.
