Actor Kim Joo-hyeok and actress Kim Ji-soo have ended their six-year relationship.
Their split, first reported by a local sports daily Wednesday, was confirmed by their agency Namoo Actors, Thursday.
The daily quoted a source as saying: "They broke up three months ago. The separation has been barely known, even unknown to their agency. I don't know why they broke up. They are still going through hard times".
Yet, the relationship appears to have ended amicably. "They have decided to remain friends", said an official from their agency, declining to elaborate.
Both born in 1972, the two started their relationship in 2004 after appearing together in the SBS TV series "Flowing River".
The actress posted a note on her blog at the end of July, hinting at the breakup. In the posting, she said, "I have known that life does not turn out the way I wished. But human beings are the ones who get baffled and dejected when placed in such a situation, don't they?"

2009/10/01 |
Director LEE Yoon-ki's film 'And Us' ("Breakfast at Tiffany's"), currently in production has had a three week respite in shooting. Reasons for the temporary halt are unknown but given the star power attached to the film, that the film has not yet resumed shooting is significant. The male lead is HA Jeong-woo who most recently starred in "Take Off" which this year raked in 8 million admissions at the Korean box office. HA plays opposite Soo-ae who is currently playing Queen Myeon-seong in "The Sword with no Name" itself ranking at number two at the Korean box office. Since his debut feature "This Charming Girl" in 2005 Director LEE Yoon-ki has also made a name for himself at the box office. "And Us", a mid-budget film was to be his 5th feature.
With film already in the can there is still no word yet as to when shooting will resume.

One day, two characters, lots of dialogue and hushed emotions ― only Jeon Do-yeon and Ha Jeong-woo could pull it off. South Korea's most in-demand actors get together as former lovers in the post-break up road movie "My Dear Enemy". Of course none other than director Lee Yoon-ki ("This Charming Girl") orchestrated this enchanting story about spending an abnormal day with an ex.
Jeon chose a rather mundane character to emerge from her immortalized Cannes Best Actress-winning role in "Secret Sunshine". But the actress shines through more than ever as she sustains dramatic tension for two hours with an ordinary persona, saying more in what is unsaid rather than hysterical tears. Heui-su is an irritable, uptight 30-year-old who, wearing immaculate eye makeup, never forgets to tuck away her road navigator before getting out of the car. Jobless, unmarried and broke, she tracks down her ex-boyfriend Byeong-un (Ha), who disappeared a year ago after b... |More
