Ko Hyeon-jeong: 'My Unknown Nickname is Cutie Pie' (Source)

Famous Korean actress Ko Hyeon-jeong showed off her charm on the talk show "Olive Show 3" on the cable channel Olive TV. Ko said, smiling, "My unknown nickname is 'Cutie Pie'. I won't go out in the early morning if possible because I look so especially adorable", during an interview with photographer Cho Sun-hee on the talk show.

In reply to a question by the interviewer regarding a scandal with a younger male actor, Ko answered, "I envy that some actors such as Jo In-seong and Ha Jeong-wo can give witty answers to embarrassing questions".

Ko responded to the interviewer's question about how she maintains her figure, saying, "I diet all the time in my mind, but I don't put any plans into action. People can easily notice the fat on my midsection in my movies such as 'Like You Know It All' and 'Woman on the Beach'."

For actress Ko Hyeon-jeong, the year 2009 will be remembered as the busiest, yet most rewarding of her career, as she has been recognized for her powerful acting skills on both the small and big screens.

She displayed an unprecedented amount of charisma in the hit TV drama "Queen Seon-deok" as Mishil, a strong female character in whom good and evil coexist as she enforces her rule and pursues her own desires. The show marked the rare appearance of a strong female character in the Korean drama scene.

Ko also won acclaim for her role in the movie "Like You Know It All" directed by Hong Sang-soo. It was her second collaboration with the director after the 2006 movie "Woman on the Beach".

She left acting in 1995 when she got married to current Shinsegae Group CEO Chung Yong-jin. She returned to acting 10 years later following a very public divorce.

HONG Sang-soo directs short for Jeonju fest (Source)

Internationally acclaimed director HONG Sang-soo will partake in Jeonju International Film Festival's (JIFF) annual program Digital short films by three filmmakers. HONG finished filming his digital short film on November 12 and he is in the post-production stage, according to JIFF.

HONG's short film is titled Cheobcheobsanjoong (English translation: "deep in the mountains") and stars LEE Seon-gyoon ("A Cruel Attendance"), MOON Seong-geun ("A Petal"), and Jeong Yu-mi ("The Room Nearby"). HONG worked with MOON on "Virgin Stripped Bare by Her Bachelors" and "Woman on the Beach"; collaborated with LEE on "Night and Day"; and JUNG is part of HONG's upcoming Jal Aljido Mothamyeonseo (English translation: "when you don't know").

HONG Sang-soo Shoots His Ninth (Source)

Director HONG Sang-soo is in production on his ninth feature film, tentatively titled "Like You Know It All" ("You Don't Even Know" - Jal al-ji-do mot-ha-myun-seo). The film, HONG's second to be shot in HD following his previous feature "Night and Day", has an ultra-low budget of only US$100,000.

HONG is one of Korea's leading auteur directors, with many of his films screening at international festivals. Several of his films have been released in France and retrospectives of HONG's oeuvre have been organized in Toronto, San Francisco, Irvine, and Montreal, among other cities.

The new project stars HONG regulars, KIM Tae-woo ("Woman is the Future of Man"), EOM Ji-won ("Tale of Cinema"), and KO Hyeon-jeong ("Woman on the Beach"). Synopsis

Film director, Joong-rae, is preparing for his next movie but is unable to finish his script. So he pleads his friend, Chang-wook, a production designer, to go with him on a trip even though Chang-wook had already made plans with his girlfriend, Moon-sook, a composer. Eventually Chang-wook brings his girlfriend along and they all go on a trip to the west coast to visit Shinduri Beach Resort, which is covered with cherry blossoms and a flowing mist. There, Joong-rae makes advances on Chang-wook's girlfriend, Moon-sook. Already a fan of his films, Moon-sook doesn't hide her interest. So later, while avoiding Chang-wook's eyes, the two spend a heated night together. But the next day Joong-rae's face is filled with anxiety as he proposes to go back to Seoul. He and Moon-sook then part awkwardly.
Two days later, Joong-rae is back again in Shinduri. He tries to let Moon-sook know that he is back in Shinduri but he is unable to reach her and leaves the message. Then, he runs into a young woman named Sun-hee. Telling her that she resembles a woman that he's thinking of as a character in the film, Joong-rae approaches Sun-hee for an interview. They, too, end up spending a night together. Moon-sook arrives at the scene with the intent to be with Joong-rae. But seeing him being with Sun-hee, Moon-sook goes to drink on her own out of anger...
