2007 KOVINA Friendship Concert commemorates 15 years of friendship

Koreaand Vietnam consolidate their friendship through pop music.

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Korea Culture and Content Agency (KOCCA) announced on June 20 that they are holding the 2007 KOVINA Friendship Concert at Futo Stadium, Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, on July 3.

A compound word of KO (Korea) and VINA, a nickname for Vietnam, KOVINA symbolizes the enduring friendship between the two countries. KOCCA aims to commemorate the 15 years since the two countries formalized their relationship and to promote and further Korean pop singers' advance into the Vietnamese market and in the Southeast Asian region.

Scheduled to appear are Kangta and Shin Hye Sung, who have already gained huge popularity in Chinese-speaking regions, as well as Chae Yeon, Baek Ji Young, Park Jung-ah, Poppin Hyun-joon, Paran, Seo Ji-young, and Yoon Hyeong-Ryeol. Also to perform in the concert are popular Vietnamese pop singers such as My Linh and Lam Truong.

Meanwhile, KOCCA plans to hold a Korea Vietnam Cultural Industry Business Exchange Fair on July 2 to expand the exchange in Korean and Vietnamese pop music.
