TAEGU - A love story between a young man studying the priesthood and a tomboy who refuses to be baptized is the subject of a new local film.

"Sinbu Suob", tentatively titled "Love, So Divine" in English, stars two popular movie stars _ kwon Sang-woo from the latest local film "Maljukgori Chanhoksa (The Spirit of Jeekeundo _ Once Upon a Time in High School)" and Ha Ji-won from "Naesarang Ssagaji (Can't Hate You, My Love!)". The movie is currently being filmed at a catholic church in Taegu, North Kyongsang Province.

The movie revolves around a seminary student who has to baptize a young woman only interested in romance, and depicts how their relationship grows into love.

"The movie is not just a comedy", said director Huh In-mu at a press conference at Taegu Grand Hotel last week, "I want to make it more of a romantic melodrama that includes some funny episodes".

Gweon, who plays the seminary student Kyu-sik, said he thinks that the movie will be a chance for him to change the image his fans expect of him.

"My character is different from what I've played in previous movies such as `The Spirit of Jeekeundo' and `Tongapnaegi Kwawehagi (An Extra Class)",' said Gweon. "I've so far played such roles as a slacker and loafer who swears a lot and is very tough. But in this movie, I am a pure person who devotes himself to loving Jesus".

The word "sinbu" in the title of the film can mean either priest or bride in Korean, and the movie is based on this play on the word. The film tells both the story of the relatively unknown world of priesthood and at the same time shows how a young lady becomes a bride. "Love, So Divine" will be released in local theaters in August.
