Actor kwon Sang-woo said Thursday that he will release a special photo album and tour Asia early next year.
"I am so grateful for such devotion from my fans in Asia. I want to visit their countries and meet them as soon as possible when I am done with my film schedule", he said at a party at the Lotte Department Store in central Seoul on Thursday evening, while being swarmed with camera flashes and questions from more than 40 reporters from Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand and China. He visited the store to celebrate it's opening of a French luxury goods house.
"I think I became popular because of previous Korean actors who did so well and paved the way for the Korean Wave", he said, when asked about his thoughts on his skyrocketing popularity in Asian countries.
Kwon is currently shooting a noir action film called "Running Wild", which is to premier in December. He grew a beard for his role as a tough detective.
"I feel overwhelmed by the crowd. I haven't had the opportunity to meet so many people like this in a long time because I have been focusing on the film", he said.
Kwon also expressed his wish to work with world-famous Hong Kong stars Tony Leung and Kelly Chan. "I would be really honored to act with them in a film if I ever have the chance to do so", he said.
