Top star Lee Byung-hun will attend a party celebrating the 80th anniversary of a luxury brand in Rome, Italy, on May 18 alongside world-renowned stars. Many Hollywood stars whose movies are to be shown at this year's concurrently held Cannes Film Festival are expected to attend.

Lee, whose movie "A Bittersweet Life" was invited to the Cannes' out-of-competition division, will walk down the red carpet and participate in the company party for the unnamed brand. At the party will also be Catherine Zeta Jones, Michael Douglas, Sarah Jessica Parker, Scarlet Johansson, Cameron Diaz, Maggie Cheung, Gong Li, Zhang Ziyi, Chang Chen and director Wong Kar Wai. Lee will be the only Krean actor to participate in the event.

"He was invited because his popularity for his role in 'A Bittersweet Life' and the television dramas "All In" and 'Beautiful Days' has soared recently in Asia", said Lee's agency. The agency also added that Lee will have a tight schedule in Cannes -- hosting an official premiere of "A Bittersweet Life" and several press conferences -- but this visit will serve as a good opportunity for him to leap to the status of a world-class star.
