Lee Dong-gun enraptures Japanese fans at hallyu star meeting

Hallyu star Lee Dong-gun captivated the hearts of some 3,000 Japanese fans at the "Hallyu Star Meeting", which was held Dec. 5 at the Nakano Plaza Hotel in Tokyo, Japan.

At the event, Lee also unveiled his first photo album, which will hit Japanese stores Dec. 20. Photographed by the famous Japanese photographer Kujirai Yatsuoka, the album features natural images of Lee against the scenic backdrops of France, the U.K. and Switzerland -- the filming locations of Lee's latest TV drama "Lovers in Paris". The 112-page album also includes the making-of DVD, a poster and a postcard.

The actor's popularity in Japan has soared since the series "Lovers in Paris" and "Crystal Shoes" aired in that country. The promotion of the movie "My boyfriend is type-B", which stars Lee and is to open in Japan next January, also helped add to his recent popularity.

Lee expressed his gratitude to his fans for helping him produce the photo album, saying he worked very hard to make it a success. He added that he strived to portray himself as a 26-year-old man traveling alone, rather than focus on embellishing the album.
