Lee Eun Joo Only One - Tribute to Lee Eun Joo

Two years has gone by since Lee Eun Joo left us. The star of such films as Lover's Concerto and Taegukgi, the popular actress committed suicide on February 22, 2005, passing away at the age of 24. This special compilation album, Only One, is a tribute to the talented young actress who left the world all too soon.

The 13-track album contains soundtrack songs from works Lee Eun Joo appeared in. Only When I Sleep is from her controversial last film, The Scarlet Letter, co-starring Han Suk Kyu. There is both a solo Bossa Nova version (Track 11) sung by Lee Eun Joo and a newly arranged duet version, Only When I Sleep Two of Us (Track 1), featuring newcomer Kim Tae Hoon. Lee Eun Joo's voice can also be heard in "Post Office" (Track 2) and "Romance Novel Main Theme" (Track 10). In addition, this album contains Sung Si Kyung's "Cactus" (Track 5), Lee Seung Chul's "Karma" (Track 9), and a remake version of Yoo Jung San's "Oh, Beautiful Woman" (Track 7) from Bungee Jumping of Their Own. Also of note is "Evening Glow - She is Not Forgotten" (Track 12), a new song dedicated to the actress sung by Lee Kyu Han (My Lovely Sam-Soon).

이은주 의 'Only When I Sleep'이 신비로운 청량감을 주는 아일랜드 전통음악의 분위기(켈틱 사운드)를 입고 듀엣 버전으로 다시 태어났다. 울림 있는 음색이 특징인 신인보컬 김 태훈과 맑은 음색의 이은주가 사랑의 하모니를 엮어냈다. 복각된 이은주 의 목소리가 메인 멜로디에 살짝 얹혀 화음을 만들어 내는 부분에서는 마치 그녀가 우리 곁으로 돌아온 듯한 착각마저 든다. 두 번째로 선보인다는 의미와 두 사람이 함께 부른 듀엣버전이라는 의미에서, 부제는 'two of us'. 명상적인 분위기인 동시에 대중가요적인 친근함도 갖고 있는 곡이다.
