South Korean films are faring well in the local film market so far this year.
Domestic films shared 68.3 percent of the Seoul film market during the first five months of 2004, as compared to 46.8 percent recorded in the same period last year.
Domestic films attracted about 13.21 million people, more than twice the number of ticket sales for American films during the period.
As for third-country movies, Japan and Europe shared 1 percent and 0.4 percent of the box office, respectively.
Seven of the current ten top box-office hits are domestic films.
