The Maldives has been the top destination since the late Noughties, when several Korean celebrities hotfooted it to the archipelago in the Indian Ocean.

Many of the tiny atolls have just one resort on them, ensuring privacy.

Hawaii became popular when the U.S. allowed visa-free entry to Koreans in 2010 and carriers started direct flights to the islands. The climate is balmy year-round and the infrastructure suburban.

The holiday islands of Bali and Phuket have the advantage of being fairly close to home, while Europe offers picturesque backdrops for holiday pictures.
