A book entitled "I Am Marine" (published by Planet Media) that contains images of Hyun Bin (real name Kim Tae Pyung), now a member of the Marine Corps, has been published. The book is about the stories of privates in the Marine Corps including Hyun Bin, and it will convey their stories of six weeks spent in the Marines since they joined the Marine Corps, including their pictures taken while in the corps.

Actor Hyun Bin joined the Marine Corps when he was enjoying huge popularity as an actor, and he said during an interview, "I cannot help people forgetting me while I am fulfilling my military obligation. I have to afford the cost. What is important is how fast I can come back to my place. It is totally up to me whether I can take this opportunity as a new leap forward or not, so one year and nine months in the Marines is a really important time for me, as important as for other marines. I want to find out my mental and physical limit and I want to reach my limit while I am serving in the Marines". Hyun Bin reportedly started to study English and Japanese after he finished recruit training. He spoke of his aspirations, saying, "During the time in the Marine Corps, I want to find out a new appearance of myself. I am an actor, Hyun Bin, and I am a diligent person named Kim Tae Pyung, who has always pushed myself by asking myself whether I am doing my best, but I want to find a totally different aspect of me that I have not discovered so far".

In addition, this book contains stories of a private named Yoon Sa Hun, who volunteered for a search party in the Marine Corps in the middle of studying abroad in Canada, private Kim Hong Soon, who joined the corps after abandoning his American citizenship, and twin brothers named Jeong Sung Woo and Jeong Sung Jin, who joined the corps together.
