Moon Chae-won garnered two rookie actress awards at the Grand Bell Awards and Blue Dragon Awards with her appearance in the movie "Arrow, The Ultimate Weapon", and she gained great popularity with her appearance in KBS's melodrama about tragic love entitled "The Princess' Man". Those two works were both historical dramas, and Moon has obtained many male viewers' love by being selected as the most beautiful woman in a Hanbok.

Moon Chae-won said on the program, "I appeared in the historical dramas consecutively, so some of my friends worried about it because they and I had thought that I had to appear in modern dramas to come closer to the public". She explained that she could not help choosing those works because the script and the character she had to play were all very tempting to her. In particular, she liked the love story of Romeo and Juliet in "The Princess' Man". With her appearance in "Arrow, The Ultimate Weapon", Moon received two rookie actress awards that is usually regarded as the most precious awards as the chance to win the rookie award comes only one time during an actor's lifetime. She said that she did not expect to win the award, so she was greatly surprised and felt even more delighted. She said, "I attended the awards ceremony for the first time in my life because I did not previously have the chance. 'Arrow, The Ultimate Weapon' was actually my second movie, so I was just so glad about the participation itself and I felt great pressure. But I never expected that I would win the award as I went there only to enjoy the ceremony. I could not prepare an acceptance speech for any awards, so I looked so clumsy on the stage (laugh). But it was a very touching moment".

"Arrow, The Ultimate Weapon" attracted 7.4 million audience members, and it was recorded as the movie that had the greatest number of audience members for this year. She explained, "I could not expect this huge achievement. I just knew that the script was very good and the cast members were all great, so I actually depended on other actors while acting. But it was an even greater achievement than I had expected".

Moon Chae-won made a confession that acting in the historical dramas was very difficult because she had to present the beauty of traditional aspects. She said, "Speaking in traditional ways and the script itself are both very difficult. But I felt excited about wearing Hanbok and talking about love in the drama". She presented a tragic love story in "The Princess' Man", and she was asked about her love in the real world. She answered, "I am twenty six years old and I had a boyfriend before and I also experienced the first time (laugh), but I could not experience the extreme love like what I had presented in the drama".

Moon Chae-won had a very tight schedule this year while appearing in two huge works, and she went to Spain with her mother to travel after finishing all those works. She said, "I majored in western painting at school, so I have a huge interest in the architecture and historical sites in Spain. I was very happy about seeing many things like Gaudi's architecture during this trip". Asked about why she had changed her major from painting to acting, she explained that she suddenly realized that she wanted to become an actor when she was a junior in high school. She said, "I had studied arts at high school and I naturally thought that I would have a job related to the arts, but I naturally changed my mind to become an actor since I had enjoyed watching dramas and movies from the days when I was young". She made her last comment by saying, "I would like to appear in modern works next year. I might be able to present more exciting and interesting appearances in modern works. I want you to anticipate my acting".
