In her new role, she will perform with other local jazz artists at Olympus Hall in Seoul on April 30.

Nah has gained international recognition for her work since studying in France back in 1999. She was named a Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres by the French government in 2009 and won Germany's prestigious ECHO Jazz Award for Best International Jazz Vocalist of 2011.

In November 2011, UNESCO selected jazz as a tool to enhance peace, unity and dialogue across national and cultural boundaries, and designated April 30 as International Jazz Day.

Istanbul is the chair city of this year's special day, but celebratory events will take place around the globe.
