New Movies: Beowulf, Seven Days and More

And finally tonight a check of what's new at the movies.
Fans of director Robert Zemeckis or Angelina Jolie will be happy to know, Beowulf is in town.
And there's something if you're in the mood for a thriller.
Shin Haejoo has our preview.
If you want to see a virtual Angelina Jolie in three dimensions turn to this week's new release, Beowulf.
Critics have reviewed it as an intense sequence of action and violence.
And they are raving over Oscar-winning director Robert Zemeckis' use of digital technology, drawing on techniques he helped pioneer in the 2004 film "The Polar Express".
The movie tells the classic epic poem of the hero-king Beowulf, played by English actor Ray Winstone, who, to avenge his father's death, seeks to destroy the demon beast Grendel.
Vengeance works both ways, as, though Beowulf defeats Grendel, it's Grendel's mother, played by Jolie, who then comes after the king.
The story's high-tech Hollywood makeover was enhanced by an excellent screenplay, which involved the co-creator of "Pulp Fiction", a sure guarantee for a unique twist to the oldest tale of English literature.

Now we turn to the Korean thriller, "Seven Days", starring Kim Yunjin , also known for her role in the US drama series "Lost". Here she plays a successful lawyer who must free a convicted killer in just one week or else see her kidnapped daughter murdered.
This film is the latest Korean movie set for a Hollywood remake.
An independent American production company has acquired rights to the movie from Korea's Prime Entertainment and expects to begin filming next year.

Another Korean movie "Scout" with its wacky storyline: stars comic actor Im Chang-jung as a college baseball team recruiter.
The story takes place in the 80s when baseball was big and Korea's legendary player Sun Dongyeol was yet to be discovered.
Im's character, on a mission to recruit the much talked about rookie Sun , embarks on a journey to the southern city of Gwangju, where a rare encounter with his former girlfriend distracts him from his task.
The movie guarantees humor and drama as critics dub it the Korean version of Hollywood's Jerry McGuire.
