▶ Main Characters

Cha Bonggun - U-Know (25, Soccer player)

Bonggun knows exactly where to be on the field in order to score a goal. His specialty is the cannonball shot he can shoot from anywhere and without any preparation time. Due to his belief that "goals are what matter in soccer", he is always kicking for goals.

What's he up to at the moment? Barely hanging on as a member of a corporation's soccer team. Sure, his goal is to be picked for the national team and someday play in the Premiere League, but those are unreachable dreams and very different from reality. Then the team is cut. He watches his career as a soccer player go down the drain.

As he watches his dream disappear, he must now find another calling in life. Just when he is about to let go once and for all, a sports agent approaches him, a woman who looks like she'd have nothing to do with soccer.

She continuously says harsh things to him, but strangely enough, every time he has a brush with death, Kang Haebin is the first person he sees when he opens his eyes. As he looks up with eyes filled with fear and tinged with tears, he sees her sympathetic eyes looking down at him. Yet, he doesn't trust her. He still has quite a ways to go until he figures out that what he feels is the start of love.

But there was a time when he had good prospects, a time when his worth as a player outweighed that of his rival Dongho. After all, he had joined a professional team as soon as he graduated from high school and was picked to be on the junior national team. But he lost it all in a single moment. When his sister Byeol fell sick, he took Seungwoo's car in that frantic moment. He was arrested for driving without a license and for hitting-and-running. He was willing to accept the driving without a license charge, but he never hit-and-run! But at the time Seungwoo was studying for the bar and his testimony was enough to lock Bonggun up. Expectedly, Bonggun had to kiss both college and the junior national team goodbye.

His father ran around in order to appeal Bonggun's case and tragically suffered a heart attack and passed away. And thus Seungwoo became Bonggun's sworn enemy.

But now that they've met again in the present, it's not just fury that Bonggun feels. He also feels fear towards Seungwoo. Because every time his career as a soccer player takes a turn for the better, Seungwoo is there snatching all the chances away. The showdown between these two men is inevitable.

Kang Haebin - Go Ara (26, Sports agent (soccer))

She left home as soon as she graduated from college. She wants to stand on her own two feet, without the help or interference of her father.

She started off as a sports writer for the newspaper, but soon switched to a sports marketing firm. Because soccer is her favorite sport and she thinks it's easy to deal with, she becomes a sports agent for soccer players. But reality isn't quite so easy on her. The teams and the players consider sport agents to be money-hungry hyenas, and the other agents brush her aside because they think she's a weak girl who knows little about soccer and has almost no experience in this field.

Ultimately Haebin must succeed in doing one of two things if she wants to survive as a sports agent: she must either help a green rookie become a star or convince an already famous player to sign with her.

Haebin meets Bonggun, and through his eyes she is able to see a man's fears, dreams and courage.

Gradually, step by step, she becomes entangled in his life. Technically speaking, Bonggun keeps attacking her. And Haebin must make a choice. Either she can play a part in ending Bonggun's soccer career, or she can save him.

Who knew she'd end up having to run a three-legged race in life with that dunce!

Jang Seungwoo - Lee Sang-yoon (29, Attorney)

Valedictorian of his graduating class, the youngest to ever pass the bar, graduated top of his class at the institute and was immediately scouted by the top law firm in Korea, and in his spare time he's a legal consultant for the FC SOUL professional team. He's the perfect guy that mothers love but everyone else loves to hate.

He can't even imagine ever losing in anything. Having never lost in anything, he lives with a high level of elitism, an unyielding competitive nature and arrogance. He looks like he'll never lose, not even once in life. In fact, he's pretty sure he has life all figured out.

See, Seungwoo knows exactly how to gain power, how to become rich, how to persuade and lead people as well as step on all the talentless muck in the world. Most people can't help but acknowledge Seungwoo's superiority. But there's a person who dares to spit in his face!

Since the moment he first Haebin, he decided that she was for him. Of course if he had only considered her external qualities, there were a lot of women who'd be more qualified. But she has something that strikes a bell somewhere in him. So his plan is to wait a year or two and then ask the lucky gal to be his bride, but then he's unexpectedly ambushed out of nowhere. Cha Bonggun? You again?

Oh Yeonyi - Lee Yoon-ji (25, FC SOUL Team's nutritionist)

She's Bonggun's neighborhood friend and attended middle school with him. Then and now, her family still owns a restaurant that sells pork stew. Thanks to that, she's had unoriginal nicknames having to do with pork. Maybe cooking runs in the family because she entered the department of food and nutrition. After graduating she got a job as the nutritionist of the FC SOUL team, helping to balance the diet of the voracious players.

When she and Bonggun were in middle school, there were rumors that she and he were dating. Embarrassed, she ended up telling everyone that there was no way she'd go out with someone like Bonggun. But she still regrets doing that to this day because despite what she said then, she actually likes him.

But even now, she feels that acknowledging that she likes him is giving herself the shorter end of the stick. When at work she's surrounded by a lot of successful players, so why Bonggun? And worse, he now treats her completely like a buddy and is too comfortable with her, so it would be real awkward to tell him that she likes him. If only he weren't so dense and he'd catch on on his own that she actually likes him very much.

In the end she ends up telling Haebin that she and Bonggun are actually 'seriously involved'.
Often she thinks she's helping others out but ends up creating a bigger mess.
She's a lovable fibber.
