Jay Park to hold fan meeting tour in Asia

Korean singer Jay Park, the former leader of boy band 2PM, will be holding a fan meeting tour throughout Asia later this summer, according to a press release posted on his official website (www.jaypark.com/fanmeet.html).

The singer, who is currently in Korea shooting the b-boy film "Hype Nation", will meet with his fans in eight Asian cities, starting with the Seoul fan meet on August 28 which will continue onto Taipei, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore.

"We are very pleased to make this announcement", said Tinzar Sherman, Vice President of Marketing & Events at Digital Media Wire who represents Park. "The fans have been so patient and supportive of Jay. He wants to take the opportunity during the fan meets to thank all the fans for their unwavering support, and is looking forward to making it a lot of fun".

Sherman further explained that the singer will be joined by his dance crew AOM (Art Of Movement) at the fan meets, where he will engage in friendly dance battles with local b-boy crews. Park will also perform songs, dances and even play games with the fans.

"I am blessed to have such incredible fans. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to go on the road and meet with you in so many great cities. I hope to make you proud", Jay Park, as he is known in the U.S, was quoted as saying.

Two weeks ago, the Korean-American singer returned to Korea for the first time since leaving the country last September after he got caught up in a national controversy that abruptly ended his music career as a member of popular idol group 2PM.

Park had been staying in the U.S. since, dancing with his b-boy crew Art of Movement and recently signing with U.S. online media company Digital Media Wire (DMW) to manage his career in the entertainment business.

He is currently shooting the dance pic "Hype Nation" in Korea. Park plays the male lead in the film, which is about a dance contest between an American dance crew and South Korean b-boys.
