People Counting Down Hours for PIFF

People are now counting DOWN the HOURS to the opening of the Pusan International Film Festival, otherwise known as PIFF.
We are going to go LIVE to Busan, where Son Heekyung is standing by.
Hello Heekyung .

SON HEEKYUNG, REPORTER: Hello Sunhee.

MIN SUNHEE, ANCHOR: Heekyung, it sounds pretty quiet over there in Busan.

SON HEEKYUNG, REPORTER: Yes it is.
Too early for people to get fired up!
But it's going to be a busy morning for organizers.
They're hustling to put the final touches on the annual film festival.

MIN SUNHEE, ANCHOR: Well, time is nearing for the port city of Busan to raise the curtain.

SON HEEKYUNG, REPORTER: Directors and actors from home and abroad have started arriving here in Busan, ahead of tonight's opening ceremony.
For the first time, the festival's opening ceremony will be held at Haeundae Beach.
Let's take a look at what's in store.

Actors Ahn Sung-ki and Moon Geun-young are emceeing tonight's glittering opening act..
By early evening, guests who include high profile industry bigwigs, directors and actors will walk down the red carpet to their beachfront seats.
A likely attention-grabber is Hungary's Istvan Szabo.
Szabo's 1981 film "Mephisto" won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
Veteran Hong Kong actor Andy Lau, and French director Bruno Dumont will also be turning heads.
Dumont, by the way, won several awards at the '99 Cannes film festival for his film "Humanity".
Organizers say the high turnout of big-name stars reflects the festival's reputation as one of Asia's most prestigious film events.
Besides watching Director Kim Dae-sung's "Traces of Love", people will be treated to a spectacular display of fireworks.
The film is a melodrama about a man who loses his fiancee in a department-store collapse one month before their wedding
The 11th installment of the Pusan International Film Festival will screen two-hundred-45 films from 63 countries.
At this year's gala, dozens of films, domestic and foreign are making their debut here in Busan.
Drawing crowds are not only the cinematic offerings, but a range of cultural events.
Music lovers will get pumped up at concerts held nightly before screenings.
And for those looking for an adrenaline rush, there's a big rave going down for one long night.
Those night owls on the scene should check out "Midnight Passion".
This is where moviegoers can watch a selection of films straight through the night.
It's going to be a long but thrilling night here in Busan.
For sure, all eyes will be on Haeundae Beach, where spectators have a rare chance to glimpse their favorite celebrities.
OK, that's all for me.
