PIFF Chairman Kim Dong-ho to Receive Medal from Deauville, France

Kim Dong-ho, chairman of the Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF), will receive a "Deauville Medal of Honor" at the "Deauville Festival of Asian Films" in France.

The PIFF Secretariat said on its Website on Mar. 7, "The City of Deauville, France will award a 'Deauville Medal of Honor' to PIFF Chairman Kim Dong-ho for his achievements and contributions to the development of Asian films". The awards ceremony will be held in Deauville on Mar. 11 at 3:30 p.m.

The Deauville Festival of Asian Films has cooperated with the PIFF for the development of Asian films under a sisterhood relationship. The 8th Deauville Festival of Asian Films is being held from Mar. 8 until 12. The Korean film "Marathon" directed by Chung Yoon-chul has been chosen as the closing film for the festival.

Meanwhile, Kim has recently been invited as an international member to the "Foundation Committee of Cinema" of the Rome International Film Festival, which will be inaugurated on Oct. 13.
