The Korea Tourism Organization has appointed pop star Rain (Bi) as a friendship ambassador to help promote Korean pop culture and tourist spots around the globe.
The country's leading entertaining figure, who kicked off his world tour concert last week, will serve to promote the country's tourism industry throughout next year, according to the KTO.
It estimated that Rain alone will be able to entice as many as 7 million foreign visitors to Korea's shores in the coming year.
The tourism body is also promoting its newly-renovated Korean Wave Pavilion, part of marketing activities centered on the Korean pop culture craze in Asia.
