President Lee Myung-bak says he believes Yeosu and the southern coast of Korea will become one of the world's best tourist spots, just as Vancouver became a global city after the 1986 expo.
In his bi-weekly radio address Monday morning, President Lee stressed that it's very meaningful for Yeosu, a city with a population of just 300-thousand, to host such a big event and added that he believes the Yeosu expo will be a success thanks to the interest and cooperation of the Korean people.
The president also emphasized that the expo is expected to create added value worth 5 billion U.S. dollars, induce production worth 10 billion dollars and create more than 80-thousand new jobs.
