November 10, 6AM, a small celebratory party was held on the 7th floor of the MBC building in Ilsan. The party immediately followed the final overnight filming for Misil
Ko Hyeon-jeong. Amidst a shower of confetti from party poppers,
Ko Hyeon-jeong was presented with a cake and a bouquet of lowers.
As soon as director
Park Hong-gyoon gave his final "Cut!"
Ko Hyeon-jeong's eyes were already beginning to tear. After having worked so hard and endlessly since May, the second leading lady of "
Queen Seon-deok" looked conflicted: reluctant yet relieved to finally be done, it didn't seem to hit her immediately that this was it. With such bittersweet emotions, she teared.
Just as Misil within the drama prepared for her end and wrapped up loose ends,
Ko Hyeon-jeong said her own farewells to the crew members with jokes and smiles when she had the time.
As the studio flooded with lights, director
Park Hong-gyoon, who was on the 8th floor, came down and shared a short but heartfelt hug with Go. And so this grand chapter came to a close.
Back in May when the drama was first starting out, Go said in an interview, "To me Misil seems a lonely and isolated person. On top of struggling to survive, she tries her hardest not to lose in any power struggles. She may seem strong on the outside, but inside she's just a frail woman who is very afraid and must never let down her guard".
Her thought after wrapping up the final shoot was short and sweet, "Misil made me very happy". To interpret, she was very glad to have taken on the role of Misil, who was so different from Go herself and offered her a new acting experience.
After casting a look around the studio filled with memories,
Ko Hyeon-jeong stepped outside and was greeted by over 50 crew members lined up along a red carpet and throwing confetti. Seeing the lit candles lining the red carpet,
Ko Hyeon-jeong was even more touched.
She gave a huge smile as she told everyone, "Thank you so much. [...] I'll come visit".
To which the crew members replied, "It'll be so boring with you~" They gave her a round of applause.
Misil
Ko Hyeon-jeong was so touched by the crew's gestures, she went to each crew member and said farewell.
