Korean singer and actor
Rain has been featured in US business and financial news magazine Forbes' list of 10 celebrities who are brand ambassadors for different mobile phone companies across the globe.
The magazine chose the 25-year-old star of Hallyu (referring to popularity of Korean pop culture overseas) as one of ten celebrities representing major international cell phone brands.
He is the face of the Korean brand Samsung phones in China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
Rain was also chosen as Samsung's "Olympic Brand Ambassador" for the upcoming Summer Games in Beijing because he is viewed as "Korea's answer to Justin Timberlake" according to the magazine.
Other celebrities on the list include tennis star Maria Sharapova, singer Usher for Sony Ericsson, Hong Kong star
Andy Lau for LG's Shine phone, soccer star David Beckham for the Motorola RAZR2 and race car driver Danica Patrick.
Rain, who recently appeared in the Hollywood movie Speed Racer, was mentioned in Forbes earlier this year when the magazine picked Korean pop music, or K-pop, as one of the 20 trends sweeping the globe. The magazine said
Rain was one of the leading stars of Korean pop music.
Thanks to his well-toned body and dynamic dance moves exuding masculine charm,
Rain has ridden the crest of the Hallyu, or Korean wave.
