Journey once more into the world of Asian horror with The Wig, a terrifying supernatural horror picture from filmmaker Won Sin Yeon! In his feature length directorial debut, Won crafts a gruesome tale centering on two sisters and the demonic wig that comes between them. Each sister, it seems, has suffered a terrible trauma: Chi Hyon (Yoo Seon, from The Uninvited) can no longer speak due to a terrible car accident that damaged her vocal chords, while her younger sibling Su Hyon (Chae Min Seo, from Champion and Aegis) has been diagnosed with cancer with little chance for recovery. For most of their lives, the two young women have nurtured a loving sisterly relationship, one that has only grown stronger in the face of adversity, that is - until one fateful day.

When Su Hyon loses her hair due to chemotherapy treatment, Chi Hyon decides to give her younger sister a beautiful wig to help her regain her confidence. Immediately, Su Hyon begins to change in ways her elder sister never expected. While the wig rejuvenates her body and spirit, it also begins to take over her mind, as Su Hyun starts to transform into an entirely different sort of woman. Clearly, this is no ordinary hairpiece. Soon enough, sibling rivalry erupts as the two compete for the love of Chi Hyon's boyfriend, a complicated love triangle that climaxes in surprising ways. The wig seems to feed on the memories of its possessor, but why? What secrets does it hold? I feel that she is too beautiful to be a ghost or to ransformed into another person. I think she needs a lot more acting to be pretty scary.

The reviewers said it all...there is more drama than the scary part. It is indeed creepy. seeing hair that was crawling. In the end, i was totally lost.

More Drama Than Horror Customer Review Rated Bad 3 - 3 out of 10
This film does send out the message that it is a "jump out of seat" horror but I found that the scares were small and infrequent. The film focuses more on Su Hyon and her battle with cancer. Throughout the film her Mellon collie air lends the film a subdued feeling. At times watching the young girl cope with the agonising pain caused by her disease is heartbreaking. The slow change of her persona could be blamed on her illness as well as the wig so it is intresting to watch but it never really goes anywhere.
Although Chae Min Seo acts brilliantly the films plot just does not hold attention as it should.
By the end of the film you are left feeling confused and a little like your time has been wasted. The plot tries to have twists but they are never fully explained and this just leaves the story lacking.
The relationship between Chi Hyon and her boyfriend is never explored in detail, and this makes the ending flat.
A good idea badly executed.

the beginning doesnt show very many scary parts, just teasers which gets kind of annoying after a point. its sorta confusing too. its one of those C rated horror movies that like tries to have some crazy ending that makes you say "ohhhhhh" but eh....this one doesnt really cut it.

i will say the ending sucked though. it was not happy...not that all endings should be....but there was just no resolution...there was this one part in the very end where someone was doing something very wRONg....and i was just like STOP STOP STOP! and let me tell you.....she would NOt stop!!! the pain was excrutiating watching that part...

This movie was pretty creepy actually....I admit, the whole long black wig thing is scary! heheehe....well, the storyline isn't going to scare you, but the hair surely will...
