Shinsegae Opens Another Mega Mall in Goyang

The new Starfield Mall in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province draws crowds on its grand opening day on Thursday.

Retail behemoth Shinsegae opened another of its giant Starfield shopping malls in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province on Thursday. It is the third after Hanam in the same province and COEX in Seoul.

"We tried to reflect customers' requirement and improve convenience based on feedback and complaints for our previous malls", said Shinsegae vice chairman Chung Yong-jin said at the opening ceremony.

With store space of 364,000 sq.m and 4,500 parking spaces, the new mall is designed to attract a wide range of suburbanites on the northern outskirts of Seoul.

The mall features family-friendly facilities and 35 sports and game areas.
