Animation New Royal Secret Commissioner, jointly-produced by Korea and Japan, will be screened simultaneously in the two countries on November 26.
New Secret Commissioner is based on a comic book by Yang Gyeong-il and Yoon In-wan that features materials and characters from Korea's classic literatures such as Secret Royal Commissioner, Chunhyang, and Heo Jun. The comic book is currently being serially published on Young Champ of Korea and Sunday GX of Japan. 8 series parts are published in paperback, of which 2 million copies have been sold in Korea and Japan.
The main character Munsu is the secret royal commissioner of a country on its ruin called Jushin. Munsu punishes evil men and groups that harm the countrymen using his position throughout the storyline.
Big-name companies such as Sokakukan, OLM, Daiwon C&A Holdings, and Character Plan from the two countries participated in production of the animation. Many Korean Wave starts took part in the making of the film as well. Boa sang the theme song, and actors Ji Seong, Yoon Son-ha, and Lee Ji-hun were put in charge of narration.
Casting of these stars was promoted by Japanese companies. Voice of Ji Seong in narration will be kept accompanied by the language subtitle for the screenings in Japan.
