Singer and actor Eric Mun will hold fan meetings in Japan this weekend, according to his agency Top Class Entertainment on Tuesday.

Top Class Entertainment announced through press release yesterday that Eric Mun from six-member boy band Shinhwa will hold fan meetings in Tokyo and Osaka on December 18 and 19, respectively.

For the upcoming event, Eric Mun plans to express his gratitude to his fans who waited for him while he fulfilled his two-year military mandatory service.

The 31-year-old rapper was discharged from the military on October 30 and about 400 fans from several countries including Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Thailand and Canada showed up to congratulate the return of the pop star.

Eric Mun, whose real name is Mun Chong-hyok, made his debut through Shinhwa in 1998 which had been one of the most popular groups in the country and throughout Asia.

He then pursued a career in acting starting in 2003 and appeared in dramas such as "Mighty Chil-woo" (2008), "Que Sera, Sera" (2007), "Korea Secret Agency" (2006), "Super Rookie" (2005) and "Phoenix" (2004). He also appeared in films "Diary of June" (2005) and "A Bittersweet Life" (2005).

He is set to star in an upcoming drama titled "Poseidon", Korea's first TV series on coast guards also starring actor Kim Kang-woo.
