Jay Park, a former member of 2PM, uploaded a teaser music video for his new song "Star" on YouTube on Dec. 21. The trailer is also featured on other major portal sites, and the plot of the video is based on the real-life love story between singer Se7en and Actress Park Han-byeol.
The track was composed by the hit-maker Jeon Gun, who has previously produced K-pop hits such as "I Need a Girl", sung by Big Bang's Taeyang, and the song "Fading Star", sung by Wheesung. "Star", sung by Park, is an R&B song about undying love between a couple.
At midnight on Dec. 28, Park will release a single album titled "New Breed Part 1" online featuring "Star" as well as songs "Enjoy the Show", "Up and Down", "I Got Your Back" and an acoustic version of the song "Not Without You".
In addition, the solo artist will take to the stage on Dec. 31 at the Sheraton Grande Walkerhill hotel in Seoul alongside Asian-American group Far East Movement. The Korean entertainer and members of the electronic music group became friends in the United States, where Park spent his childhood. The New Year's Eve concert "Highlight Festival 2012 Countdown" will also feature international acts such as DJ Sebastian, DJ Feadz and Justin Michael.
