On the first episode of the KBS 2TV drama "The King's Face", Seon Jo was concerned about Gwang Hae who had the fortune of a king.

Seon Jo struggled to change Gwang Hae's face of fortune by using Ko San (Lee Ki-young). He tried to change the good signs on Gwang Hae's face into bad ones using acupuncture.

Seon Jo wasn't born with the fortune of a king and was pressured by face reader Baek Kyeong (Lee Soon-jae), but Seon Jo killed him and rose to the throne. However, Seon Jo always knew that he wasn't the one and he was afraid everyone else would find out.

One night, a stranger broke into the library to find the book on face fortune and Gwang Hae who was reading it realized Seon Jo was trying to change his face and was shocked.

Seon Jo found out that someone had intruded into the palace to reveal his truth and killed him. Gwang Hae witnessed this and Seon Jo questioned him about what he saw. Gwang Hae told him he didn't see anything and said to himself, "I have no plans of becoming a king".

Meanwhile, Kim Ga-hee (Jo Yoon-hee) was spotted by Seon Jo to refine his features.

"The King's Face" is Gwang Hae's story about being born as the son of a concubine but ending up as the king and getting involved in a three way romance over a woman and his father Seon Jo.
