tvN drama "Twelve Men in a Year" showed the breaking up of Na Mi-ru (Yoon Jin-seo).
Na Mi-ru lives with her Hotelier boyfriend Cha Jin-oh (On Joo-wan) and it's their one year anniversary. She found out that her boyfriend had gotten her a 'bling bling ring' from her friend Park Tan-ya (Ko Joon-hee).
To repay him back with something worthy of his present, she fought to buy a Swiss quality watch which was on 30% sale for the first 3 people.
Cha Jin-oh prepared three boxes. They were a pot, some fries and oil. Angry, Na Mi-ru fried the watch she bought while he went to take a shower.
When he came out of the shower, he put a diamond ring on her finger. She screamed, "No! No!" and took out the watch that had already become deep fried.
Cha Jin-oh denounced her saying she was a doenjang girl but Na Mi-ru retorted saying that love was about give and take. The two decided to break up on their first year anniversary and he took back the ring saying he bought it with his card.
