YesAsia Editorial Description

The original flagbearer of the Korean Wave, renowned producer Yoon Suk Ho has won over fans all over Asia with his "season" dramas, starting in 2000 with the classic Tale of Autumn (a.k.a. Endless Love) starring Song Seung Heon, Song Hye Kyo, and Won Bin. He followed up in 2002 with the heartwrenching Winter Sonata starring Bae Yong Jun and Choi Ji Woo. These two dramas were phenomenally popular in Korea and throughout Asia, transforming the leads into international stars and even helping to boost Korea's tourism industry. In 2003, Song Seung Heon returned for the third installment, Summer Scent, opposite Son Yae Jin. Three years later, Yoon presented the fourth and final chapter of the seasons quartet, Spring Waltz, a quiet drama about a romance born one spring on a small, isolated island.

Left in a small island town by his gambling father, young Lee Su Ho meets the sickened Suh Eun Young, and they become good friends. Even when Su Ho's unscrupulous father steals Eun Young's family's money, the two remain steadfast in their friendship. A tragic twist of fate, however, forces them to separate, with Su Ho eventually getting adopted by a wealthy couple. Fifteen years later, Su Ho is now Yoon Jae Ha (Seo Do Young), a loner piano prodigy with a loving family and a fiancee (Lee So Yeon), and Eun Young (Han Hyo Ju) has a suitor in the suave Philip (Daniel Henney). Jae Ha and Eun Young's lives seem set in every way until the childhood sweethearts cross paths once more...

Spring Waltz features a refreshing cast of relatively new faces. Leads Seo Do Young (Emperor of the Sea) and Han Hyo Ju (My Boss, My Teacher) make a charmingly photogenic couple, while Lee So Yeon (Super Rookie) displays surprising range. Perhaps shining the most brightly is Korean American heartthrob Daniel Henney (My Lovely Sam-Soon) who shows off both his charisma and his language skills. Beautifully shot and wistfully romantic, Spring Waltz is a fitting finale to the seasonal drama series.

Wonderful story but lacking... Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
In terms of story, I will definitely give this one more than 5 stars. The story is great, the actors are awesome, and this is a phenomenal conclusion for the season series created by the same director. That said... I am not sure why YA, or whoever is responsible for it, had to edit this version. Yes, the story is still the same, and so is the sequence. I would say that they did cut out some parts that they think lengthened the story. But still, all those who are willing to pay for the dvd expects to get every single bit of the series... whether significant or not. If you are the type who's too much into details and you like every scene, this might be a let down. It was for me since I saw the full version. If, on the other hand, you didn't get to watch the full version, and you just want to get a copy of a wonderful and memorable story, get this one. The subtitle is, as always, flawless... just like all YA's previous releases. I have to acknowledge that YA always does the best job when it comes to english subs. And again, the story is sooooo worth it!

Music Galore Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
If you love classical piano music and Korean songs, this drama is filled with exquisite music. I love every piano pieces in this drama. From the beginning to the end, the music and Korean songs in this drama fascinates me . Not just a wistful love story but the social issues keeps the story strong. Seo Do-Young, Daniel Henney and the female lead gave their best performances. This drama is filled with intense emotions and picturesque sceneries from Austria and Korea. Be prepared for some very emotional scenes. Well worthwhile watching.

Seo Do Yong sings.... Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
If you have the YA version of this series, SDY sings in it. He sang at the start of each episode and also in some scenes he provided the vocal background song. Just thought you guys like to know.........

Spring is in the Air... Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
While perhaps not the best of Yoon Suk Ho's seasonal Kdramas, Spring Waltz is nevertheless a sweet and visually stunning addition to any drama fan's collection. The acting in Spring Waltz is nothing notable by any means, but the premise of the story is interesting and the actors are all earnest enough to give some credence to their roles. The tender love story that unfolds from the first episode to the last is, in the end, worthwhile.

Filmed in both Austria and South Korea, the locations chosen to shoot this series are unbelievably gorgeous. From the winter scenery of Vienna to the remote quaintness of springtime on a tiny Korean island, every scene in Spring Waltz is remarkable in its beauty. All the characters wear costumes in bright colors that compliment and accentuate the blossoms and spring greenery that are present throughout the film. The result is a viewing experience that made me feel like it really was spring; I half expected to see blossoms and flowers outside my window when I first watched this series in the middle of winter.

Finally, the music of Spring Waltz is glorious. If you enjoy classical music, particularly of the piano variety, you will love this show. I immediately bought both soundtracks to this series after watching it the first time. The piano is soothing and is an important element in moving the storyline forward.

Once again YA Entertainment did a fine job with the English subtitles, so whether a Korean speaker or not, everyone can enjoy this show.
