SBS medical drama Surgeon Bong Dal Hee has been one of the most popular Korean dramas of 2007, pulling in great reviews and ratings of over 20% during its broadcast. PD Kim Hyung Sik was recognized with a Best New Producer award for the drama at the 43rd Baeksang Awards. Surgeon Bong Dal Hee marks a rare foray into television for film actor Lee Bum Soo, star of such films as The City of Violence and My Wife is a Gangster 3. Similar to Grey's Anatomy, Surgeon Bong Dal Hee follows the comings and goings of doctors and patients at a hospital, covering both the serious and the lighthearted situations that arise in daily interactions in the medical field. Lee Bum Soo portrays a cardiac surgeon opposite actress Lee Yo Won (Fashion 70s), who plays the title role of bumbling medical resident Bong Dal Hee. Also donning white robes for the drama are Kim Min Joon (Lovers in Prague), Oh Yoon Ah (Alone in Love), and Choi Yeo Jin (Sorry, I Love You).

First-year resident Bong Dal Hee (Lee Yo Won) approaches her life and work with a simple-minded gungho sincerity. Accepted against all odds into the Hankook University Hospital residency program, she is determined to become a surgeon, all the more so because of her own heart condition. She immediately gets on the bad side of Ahn Joong Geun (Lee Bum Soo), a very strict and professional cardiac surgeon who often gets angry at the mistake-prone Dal Hee. Adding to the negative impression is Dal Hee's friendship with recently divorced surgeon Lee Geon Wook (Kim Min Joon), whom Joong Geun has disliked since their intern years. As time passes, however, Joong Geun and Dal Hee begin to develop a close relationship.

Bong Dal Hee (Lee Yo Won) is a first year resident doctor who strives to become a surgeon despite her heart problem. She works under Dr. Ahn Jong Geun (Lee Bum Soo), a cardiac specialist, and even though they don't get off to a good start, the two grow fond of each other as time goes by. Dr. Lee Geon Wook (Kim Min Joon) divorced his wife, Dr. Jo Moon Kyung (Oh Yoon Ah), after he found out that his 6-year-old son was actually fathered by another man before they married. He still has feelings for her, but feels betrayed and cheated. This medical drama portrays the lives of resident doctors, their ups and downs, depicting crisis in a hospital as well as politics among its management staff.

A very touching story Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I like every actor and actress for this show, especially Lee Yo Won and Lee Bum Soo. They acted so naturally and so touching.

Have any idea why there isn't any better collectible items for this show?? Even though there is a limited edition for korean version previously, I find that it is not good enough.

When the limited edition is launched, I was so excited but it is a petty that it is all in korean languages that I have no choice to give it up.

Why there isn't such a thing that different versions DVD have different collectible items for us to choose from??

As I notices that mostly all TV Series (Limited Items)or (Collectible Items) are mainly most in Korean Verion,Japan Version and China Version only.

Why not under Taiwan Versions or Malaysia Versions as well.I understand maybe it is depending on the publisher.

Hopefully there will be better improvement on each individual sides.

Best drama i've seen Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This drama has it all-- great actors/actresses, humor, romance (refreshingly not too much of this, but just the right amount), sorrow... Such a good balance of it all, so that it's not too much at once.
It's the best drama I've seen in a long time. I've seen a lot and I usually become tired of and numb to the emotions they stir, but during this drama, I truly sympathized with the characters when they cried and I was joyful for them when things worked out. The writer and producer did an amazing job, i'll definitely be looking for more of their work

Sooooo Cute (^-^) Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I've just finished watching it, Lee Bum soo was so cute!! When I saw the name of this Drama I was hesitate to buy it cause I really don't care to watch unhappy,sad,bad thing happen in every episode with Hospital drama. There were some tears at time, but this Drama made me smile & feel warm inside. LEE BUM SOO and people around him was great!!
Especially the way Dr.Ahn(Lee Bum soo) handle his love for Dal Hee was
very sweet. (^-^)

Desperately Seeking dr. Bong Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
My brother said, I would love to get sick if I know that someone as cute as dr. Dal Hee who will take care of me... he...he...
Well...Lee Yo Won is surely look cute in this drama, so does Lee Beom Soo except the height..sigh... I haven't finished watching this drama..I am eager to wait for my office hours to end, go home, play a good two and half hour with my girls and continue on the 10th ep. Kim Min Joon is also look good in this drama. Worth buying.

This is a very intersting and touching show which touches my heart in some scenes. But the best part is when Lee Bum Soo tries to date the lead actress which makes me laugh and he looks cute when he smiles to himself after trying to date her or when he is trying to care for her. I'm quite attracted to his acting as he protrays quite a good acting and image as being a doctor.
