The music video of "Roly Poly" by the girl band T-ara will be turned into a musical next year, according to the group's record label.
Culture Act production announced on Dec. 8 that a musical, "Our Youth Roly Poly", will begin a run from Jan. 13 to Feb. 25. The musical is based on the theme of T-ara's music video and will feature T-ara's Jiyeon, Soyeon and Hyomin, as well as Kang Min-kyeong from the female duo Davichi.
The musical is set in the 1980s and will center on a group of middle aged girlfriends. The girl band members will play high school students and the adult characters will be played by musical actress Park Hae-mi and singer Jang Hye Jin. Male leads are to be played by singer Kim Jae-hee and actor Yoon Young-joon. Another notable cast member to feature in the musical is the veteran musical actor Han Jin-sub who performed in "Mamma Mia" and "Dae Jang Geum". After a run at Seongnam Art Center the production will make a tour of 10 cities around the country.
