Actress Kim Tae-hee has released a song for the Korea Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The song, titled "Make a Wish", was released yesterday through Web portal Daum's music store, the foundation said in a press release yesterday. The song is free, but each time the song is downloaded, Daum will donate 1,000 won (0.90 cents) to the foundation.
Kim recorded the song with a choir comprising 25 children who are fighting incurable diseases such as pediatric cancer and leukemia and 30 other people who donated their musical talents to the recording, the foundation said.
The wish-granting organization was launched in 1980 in the United States. The Korean branch of the foundation was launched in November 2002 and since then has granted wishes for about 350 children, according to the foundation's data.
The choir will hold its first concert on Sept. 30 with the participation of several celebrities including actress Lee Min-jeong, singer Alex and jazz pianist Jin Bora.
