The New York Korean Film Festival 2010, featuring the best of contemporary Korean cinema

The 2010 Festival features eight films in a collaborative effort with the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) Rose Cinema.

To kick off this year's New York Korean Film Festival, Yeonghwa: Korean Film Today, the Korea Society will be hosting an opening reception on Thursday, September 23, 2010 from 5-7:30PM. The evening's celebration will include remarks by acclaimed directors and special guests Boo Ji-young ("Sisters on the Road") and Lim Sang-soo ("The Housemaid - 2010"). A jazz interpretation of Korean folk music will be performed, and instrumentals from the original soundtracks of Korean cinema will be played throughout the evening. Traditional Korean finger foods and rice wine (makgeolli) will serve as light refreshments.
The reception will be held at the Korea Society, located at 950 Third Avenue 8th Floor, New York, NY 10022. Doors open at 5:00PM. This event is free and open to the public.
