The Power of Kangwon Province DVD Region 3

Acclaimed filmmaker Hong Sang Soo follows up his 1996 directorial debut The Day A Pig Fell Into The Well with The Power Of Kangwon Province, a film that follows the separate stories of a man and a woman who have only recently decided to end their affair. The first half of the film follows the travels of three young girls: Ji Sook (Oh Yun Hong, from Love Is A Crazy Thing and Green Chair), Mi Sun (Im Sun Young) and Eun Kyoung (Park Hyun Young), as they take a trip to the mountainous Kangwon Province in eastern South Korea. During their journey, they encounter a young police officer (Kim Yoo Suk, from Possible Changes and The Isle) who serves as a kind of tour guide for the young women.

After a night of heavy drinking together, the already married policeman spends the night with Ji Sook. But as it turns out, Ji Sook has experience with this sort of situation, as she has just broken off her affair with another married man, a decision that has left her lonely and upset. The film's second half focuses on Sang Kwon (Baek Jong Hak, from Memento Mori and A Moment To Remember), the married university professor formerly attached to Ji Sook. It seems that Sang Kwon has also decided to visit Kangwon Province, but the two former lovers narrowly miss one another during their travels. Both of them, however, do end up getting involved with a terrible tragedy, one that might change both of them forever! Can Ji Sook and Sang Kwon's relationship be repaired? Or will they end up leaving the mountains of Kangwon Province unhappier than ever before?
