This Week's New Movie Releases

Time now to check on what's playing at movie theaters in Korea.
The sequel to the 2002 Korean gangster comedy "Marrying the Mafia", and "The Banquet", starring Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi are among this week's releases.

"Marrying the Mafia III" has filmgoers asking if this latest installment is as good as the previous two, which sold more than five million tickets in Korea.
Aiming to make a new history, the family's godmother starts a new business of producing the Korean spicy cabbage kimchi.
The main cast from "Marrying the Mafia II" are back once again, Kim Soo-mi, Kim Won-hee, and Shin Hyeon-joon.

Kim Soo-mi, ACTRESS: "I highly recommend the film to those who want to relieve their stress and get away from a mundane life.
I can guarantee that people won't be able to stop laughing".

Korean comedy "Moodori" named after the village revolves around three elderly men.
Set in Korea's eastern mountainous province of Gangwon the lives of the elderly men change when a young man commits suicide in the remote village.
The young man is found to have run a suicide Web site before his death, and the village suddenly turns into a destination for people wishing to end their lives.

SEO YEONGHEE, ACTRESS: "I play a young TV writer who goes to the village to do her own exclusive program.
She poses as a member of a suicide association and mingles and lives with other people at Mudori".

China's top actress Zhang Ziyi recently visited Seoul, to promote her latest film "The Banquet".
The epic deals with the tragic life of a woman who lived during China's Tang Dynasty, and is loosely based on Shakespeare's "Hamlet".
A man named Li murders his brother to become emperor, and goes after his victim's wife, Empress Han.
The film is full of opulent sets, colors, and dance performances.

Last up is the Spanish comedy "Volver", starring Penelope Cruz.
Set in a village in Spain, the movie is about two daughters who lost their parents in a fire while they were children.
Only their aunt remains in their hometown, but she talks about their late mother as if she's still alive.
Plenty of twists, mystery, and suspense in this film.
