Which historical had the highest rating in the last 10 years? On what day was it the highest?

According to the analysis done by the media research company TNmS, in the progress of historical drama's on TV from 2001 January to 2011 May, MBC's "Dae Jang Geum" had the highest rate of 41.6%.

Next came MBC "Jumong" with 41.0% and KBS 1TV "King Tae Jo" with 37.3%.

The drama with the highest rating on one episode was "King Tae Jo" on the 20th of May 2001, episode number 120 where the last of the palace was shown, rating 56.6%.

TNmS says, "54 historical dramas have been aired since 2001. 6 of them rated over 30%, and 18 including the 6 rated over 20%. It shows that a third of all the historical dramas since 2001 went over 20%".

According to statistics, each of the three broadcasting companies showed at least 4~5 historical dramas a year. Starting from 2008 and 2009 the number of epic dramas and long term dramas decreased, and there were more fusion historicals instead, increasing the number of historicals every year.

However, the viewer ratings have been showing decrease. TNmS says, "Out of 13 dramas only two ("Queen Seon-deok" 35.4% and "Iljimae" 23.1%) rated over 20% in 2008 and 2009. Out of 9 in 2010 the KBS2 drama "The Slave Hunters" (31.7%) and the MBC drama "Dong Yi" (24.5%) managed to go over 20%, showing that the numbers don't relate to the length of the dramas".
