Year-End Sharing Events by Celebrities

Two singers who became household names in the early 90s, came together for the first time in 10 years to hold a joint concert and a special sharing event where each audience member donated a charcoal briquette to the less privileged.

[Reporter : Won Mi-yeon, Singer Kang Soo-ji, Singer] "We didn't realize back then how much love our fans were giving us. But after being a singer for more than 20 years, we wanted to give back and share the love we received from the public".

Meanwhile, actress Yang Mi-kyung was out in the streets to fund-raise for teenagers living in underdeveloped countries.
Many people participated in the campaign with Yang.

[Reporter : Yang Mi-kyung, Actress] "As an actress, I think it is important to voluntarily participate in such a meaningful event and I am glad to see that a lot of people are showing interest and actively taking part in it".

Comedian Kim Byung-man plans to donate all of the proceeds from the sale of his Christmas carol album released this year and actress Lee Hye-young decided to return almost 900-thousand dollars worth of shares in her online shopping mall to society.
Experts say such "talent donations" made by celebrities will create a butterfly effect encouraging more people to give and take part in sharing events.

[Reporter : Chung Kyung-hoon, Director The Beautiful Foundation] "I believe sharing activities by celebrities have a positive effect on other people. It makes people want to take part in donations just as the celebrities they admire did".

These events hosted by celebrities are expected to help warm up the hearts of Koreans and promote the spirit of sharing during the year-end season.
