"Yooth Comics" ("Almost Love") to be pre-sold in 5.2 million dollar to Japan

"Yooth Comics" ("Almost Love") (Production: Popcorn Film, Distribution: Showbox, Meida Flex, Director Lee Han) was pre-sold in 5.2 million dollar to Japan at America Film Market (AFM), which attracts the public's attention by recombination of the most box-office couple in Korea, actor Kwon Sang-woo and actress Kim Ha-neul.

This film's export price follows Bae Yong-joon's "April Snow" which was sold in 7 million dollar to Japan. It exceeds Park Chan-wook's "Symphathy for lady Vengeance" in 3 million dollar, Choi Ji-woo's "Yeonriji" in 3.5 million dollar and Kwon Sang-woo and Yoo Ji-tae's "Wild beast" in 4 million dollar.

According to producer Popcorn Film, the reason why the film is exported with auch a high price is the two main players are Hallyu star and the contents of comic melo drama could appeal the Japanese.

Recently not only TV series but also lots of movies have been exported to Japan. Japanese film importers are showing strong interest in Korean movies since Korean movies such as "April Snow", "A bittersweet life", "Windstruck", "A moment to Remember", "TaeGukGi: Brotherhood Of War)", and "My Sassy Girl".

The Japanese Importer SPO of "Yooth Comics" ("Almost Love") had imported the Korean films like "My Tutor Friend", "Fighter in the Wind", and "Another Public Enemy" - "Another Public Enemy" before. SPO high-evaluates the main players of this film, Kwon and Kim, who lead Hallyu boom in Japan and expects to make a great success in Korea as well as in Japan due to the reunion of two Halyu stars.

"Yooth Comics" ("Almost Love") is about the comic episodes between love and friendship of a boy and a girl, which everyone might have experienced. The couple drew audiences totaling 5.2 million people in "My Tutor Friend" two years ago and their new movie will be released in the spring of 2006.
