'Hutos', KBS Young Kids Program, to develop a character manual

KBS recently developed a character manual for its ten children project Hutos? The Flying House.

WIZ Creative (CEO: Park, So-Yeon), the developer of the character manual, said that it created Hutos characters by maximizing the feel of mask dolls that appear on the program and also by representing the strong personalities of each character. Additionally, it used bright and strong colors to attract children's attention and curiosity. The design was made simple so that characters can be easily applied to other contents.

The Character Manual is a type of OSMU guidebook to help characters used in contents of various genres, so that developers will be able to consistently maintain the characters' appearance and personality.

Hutos, a mega-edutainment project for children targeting the global market from its conception, has received an investment worth KRW 4B for its production. It is unique in that the program combines mask dolls, 3D animation, and percussion music video. Another particular interesting aspect of the program is that it is made in an exclusive location set of about 4,000 m2 at the Ecological Park in Hampyeong, Jeonnam.

Hutos is an adventure story about four mask doll characters, the brothers Moya and Nado, and Ara, and Joa, who use the flying house to travel through various places and cultures of unique and strange civilizations. The goal of this program is to help children learn not the survival of the fittest, but the value of harmony and co-existence.

Having already received numerous inquiries from foreign broadcasting companies in the USA and Canada, Hutos is broadcast on 5:40 PM from Monday to Wednesday on KBS 2TV.
