'Jang Keun-suk Show' Heats Up Tokyo Dome

45,000 audience members gathered at Jang Keun-suk's solo concert at the Tokyo Dome. The first solo concert of the Hallyu star Jang Keun-suk (24) was not labeled a "fan meeting", but it was entitled as a "critical show" instead, and his concert was important enough to call it "critical".

The concert was held with the concept of "Prince World" that was personally made by Jang Keun-suk, and it was like a perfect music drama containing various spectacular things to watch such as performances using a crane, bicycle, hot-air balloon, fireworks, and razor. The concert began with a video image in which the "prince", Jang Keun-suk, who was tired from his harsh life, began to draw a sketch of the "Prince World" that he had been dreaming of, and he appeared on the stage in the middle of loud cheering by the 45,000 audience members. He heated up the atmosphere by singing songs such as "Hello Hello" which was included in the original soundtrack of the drama "Mary Stayed Out All Night", and the song "Oh My Darling" which was included in his Japanese debut album. After he finished his first performance, he delivered his thrilling emotions about holding concert in the Tokyo Dome because his first fan meeting in Japan in 2008 could not fill even the half of the venue with 2,000 seats. He said, "I had wondered when I could have a chance, and I had thought that I wanted to hold concert in the Tokyo Dome before I died, but I finally made my dream come true today". His fans gave a rapturous ovation for his comment.

Then the pre-made video images were screened on the stage. Jang Keun-suk unveiled his thoughts on the world that he has been dreaming of, which is the "Prince World", and his plain appearances of cleansing his makeup, lying down on the bed while enjoying the Internet, and his appearance in the waiting room behind the stage commanded the audience's full attention. His performance on the stage was even much greater. When he sang the song entitled "Shake It" which was included in his Chinese album "BP", he and his friend named DJ Kurt appeared on the stage by riding separate cranes, and they began to present singing and dancing while standing on the crane that rotated a full 360 degrees, and his performance heated up the venue again. He also went around the hallways of the audience to say hello to his fans at a closer distance. The hot-air balloon performance was the greatest among his other splendid performances. At the end of the concert, he appeared while riding a hot-air balloon and sang songs such as "Promise", which was included in the original sound track of the drama "You're Beautiful", and the song "Bye Bye Bye", which was included in his Japanese debut album, and when he threw the balls on which his own autograph is written, the atmosphere of the concert hall reached the peak. His fans on the third floor became very excited when their star suddenly appeared right before them by riding the hot-air balloon.

Jang Keun-suk kept his promise of presenting a "critical show" by showing unexpected performances such as taking pictures of his fans who were cheering for him and lying down on the floor of the stage. His best friends and musicians, Joo Seok and Verbal Jint, and the actress Park Shin-hye, who had appeared in "You're Beautiful" together with Jang Keun-suk, appeared in his concert as guest members and presented a joint performance. But as he only focused on the performance itself, he sometimes sang out of tune and off beat, and it was the only inadequate aspect of his concert.

The "Jang Keun-suk Show" that was held for three and a half hours from 4pm to 7:30pm came to an end with a shuffle dance time, which is the typical performance of Jang Keun-suk's concert. The 45,000 audience members were standing during his concert for several hours even from long before the concert began while shaking luminous cheering tools, and they kept calling Jang Keun-suk's name, "Prince Jang Keun-suk". Some fans even called his names in fluent Korean such as "I love Jang Keun-suk" and "Jang Keun-suk is the best". A female fan from Nagoya named Yaki Jumiko (40) expressed her satisfaction by saying, "It was a very pleasant time. His performance always presents something new, and I love it".
