Martial Arts Action Channel ABO to Air "Tiger Brothers"Starring Chae Rim

The martial arts action channel ABO will air the 33-episode Chinese epic drama "Tiger Brothers", starring Korean actress Chae Rim, from April 19. The drama ranked first in terms of viewer ratings when it was shown in 2004 in Taiwan by CTV and in Hong Kong by ATV. ABO will show "Tiger Brothers" Monday through Friday at 11:10 p.m.

The plot of this drama, regarded as a Chinese version of "Romeo and Juliet", revolves around two rival family clans, the Yangs and the Bans. But despite all the hatred and hostility between the families, a son from the Yang clan falls in love with a daughter from the Ban clan, and the two begin a heart-wrenching romance. The lead roles of this drama were played by the famous Taiwanese actor Alec Su You Peng and South Korean actress Chae Rim.

"Tiger Brothers" made headlines when it was still in production back in 2003 for casting Chae as the lead. The China Times reported on Nov.

11, 2004 that of all Korean actresses, Chae looks the most beautiful in a traditional costume. Chae gained enormous popularity among Taiwanese and Hong Kong viewers for her role in the drama.

The drama aroused so much interest in viewers that photos showing Chae in an ancient Chinese costume and others showing Lee Young-ae in Korean royal attire (which Lee wore in the Korean epic drama "Dae Jang Geum") were posted on the Internet for voting.
