'Old Boy' running grade marks No. 1 in the U.S.

Korean cinema 'Old Boy' directed by Park Chan-wook is running grade marks No. 1 among movies which are screened currently in the U.S.

According to the Readers Favorites of the New York Times Internet edition, 'Old Boy' released in the U.S. on late March 25 is holding the foremost place with 4.7 marks.

'Dear Frankie' posted the second place with 4.68 marks and 'Kungfuhustle' directed by Stephen Chow as well as "3-Iron" 'Bin Jip (Empty house)' directed by Korean film director Kim Ki-duk followed the third & the fourth position respectively.

As compared with this, 'Star Wars Episode IIl : Revenge of the Sith' directed by George Lucas, which is breaking all sorts of box office record, remains at 4.15 marks as of May 28. A full makrs of this Readers' Favorites is 5.00.

'Old Boy', a film by Park Chan-Wook, has a following synopsis in which Oh Dae-su (Choi Min-sik) is an ordinary Seoul businessman with a wife and little daughter who, after a druken night on the town, is locked up in a strange, private "prison" for 15 years.

No one will tell him why he's there and who his jailer is, but he is kept in reasonaby comfortable quarters and has a TV to keep him company.

On the TV, though, he discovers that he has been framed for his wife's murder and realizes that, during one of the occasions in which he's knocked out by gas, someone has drawn blood from him and left it at the scene of the crime.

The imprisonment last for 15 years until one day when Dae-su finds himself unexpectedly deposited on a grass-covered high-rise roof....
