The Korean blockbuster movie "The Host" has finally done it in just its 38th day of release.
Breaking the mark of 12-million-300,000 tickets sold Saturday afternoon, the monster film has surpassed "The King and the Clown" as the country's new all-time box office champion.
"The Host" portrays the struggle of an ordinary family trying to rescue its youngest member from a monster that appears from Seoul's Han River.
The megahit also holds the domestic record for the most tickets sold in a single day with 790,000, set in July.
