According to the Korean Film Council on Tuesday, "The Throne" lured 150,547 viewers on Monday alone, maintaining the top spot at the box office for six consecutive days.

So far, 1.96 million people have seen the film, and with Chuseok or Korean Thanksgiving approaching at the end of the week, it may well become the third Korean film to reach the 10-million mark this year after "The Assassination" and "Veteran".

"The Throne" revisits the tragic life of Crown Prince Sado, who was locked in a wooden chest by his father King Yeongjo and starved to death.
