Animation department of Daegu University produces animation with local broadcasting stations

A puppet play called 'Monkey Kim of Rainbow Mound' is produced by the co-operation of Digital Video and Animation Department of Daegu University and Arithmetic of TCN Daegu Broadcasting Station.

It was motivated by the original one called Mr Hobbang which has been produced by a producer of children's puppet play called Min-Ho Lee. Puppet plays 'characteristic that the audiences' reaction can be read in real time and animations' characteristic that animations are not restricted by time and space are combined.

Based on the setting of rainbow mound which is peaceful and beautiful, the main character called Monkey Kim who is very righteous and smart goes to a trip to find 7 rainbow hats that each hat has different magic with animal friends by making head of Mr. Saggun Kobo. Currently, the first episode (it runs about 11 minutes) is completed and around 20 episodes will be produced.

Min-Gyu Choi, who is a professor of Digital Video and Animation Department of Daegu University, said "This project is meaningful because we got a propose from TCN for co-operation to produce a great content and the school can provide a practical education to make a realistic result for the industries"and "digital contents production is limited in Seoul but it will be a good case that great contents can be produced by co-operation between local broadcasting stations and universities".
